Best medicine is lots of fluids, saline for the nose and possibly a cool mist humidifier in his room.. Try honey for the cough. ...Read more

Yes: Amoxicillin should be compatible with otc cough meds. May take a few days to see improvement. Honey has been shown to be equally effective as dextromethorphin in suppressing cough. Don't stop cough completely if mucous coming to clear lung. ...Read more

Viral Bronchiolitis?: I think your baby may have a viral bronchiolitis (cold with deep cough/wheeze). Treatment is a bit controversial. Some will use saline for the nose (spray/drops) and many will opt for asthma like care. Oral albuterol has grown out of favor for nebulizer treatments in the us. Albuterol is probably the main medication give via aerosol 3-4 times daily to help the cough and congestion. ...Read more

Generally decongestants are not recommended in children younger than age 4-6 because of the potential for side effects. If your child is having allergic congestion you should check with your doctor about meds, but a tsp of benadryl, (diphenhydramine) or 1 tsp of loratidine, the anti histamine in lorinase would be ok. But check with your doctor
