28 wks pregnant, previous c section, placenta anterior, no acretta now- placenta is 4cm above c section scar. Could acretta still develop at this pt?

Yes but low risk: Acretta can develop even in women who have never had a c/section. Fortunately this is rare. The risk is much higher if the placenta is covering the prior c/section scar. With the placenta 4cm from the scar, your risk is very low (but not zero). Best wishes! ...Read more

Can I have an abortion 7 months after c section and being anaemic?

Can I have an abortion 7 months after c section and being anaemic?

Possible: A cesarean section is not a contraindication to an abortion, nor is anemia, however you may want to go to a provider who has associations with a local hospital in case there are complications, which would be very unlikely anyway as long as you are cared for by a trained professional. Safety is also dependent on how far along you are, so the sooner the better. ...Read more

Can c section (14 weeks ago) cause PID? Had abdomen, back and hip pain since few weeks after section.

Can c section (14 weeks ago) cause PID? Had abdomen, back and hip pain since few weeks after section.

No: A Cesarian in not likely to cause PID 14 weeks later. Days to 1 to 2 weeks after a Cesarian delivery, an infection can develop in the uterine incision, the endometrial- myometrial tissues (endomyometritis) ...the surrounding organs, Falopian tubes, ovaries parametria....not 14 weeks later. Would be valuable to seek a Gyn reevaluation to determine the cause and get a treatment of your symptoms. ...Read more

Blood in poo 3month after havin a caesarian section?

Blood in poo 3month after havin a caesarian section?

Hemorrhoids?: Hemorrhoids are the most common cause of rectal bleeding after pregnancy. You don't need to have had a vaginal delivery to have them, and they can be either internal or external. Other causes are anal fissures and colon polyps. It's unlikely that it has anything to do with the cesarean specifically. I would ask your doctor for a referral to a colorectal specialist to look into it (literally). ...Read more

How risky is it with getting an abortion after two months c-section post-partum?

How risky is it with getting an abortion after two months c-section post-partum?

This is a real...: ...predicament. It's not safe to get pregnant so soon after delivery since you haven't had enough time to recover from the last pregnancy. But, if your uterus hasn't completely recovered, the risk of complications from an abortion is higher too. The safest approach is a medically induced abortion which doesn't require putting any instruments in your uterus. Talk to your OBGYN. Best wishes! ...Read more

Upper stomach is pulsating. 12 weeks postpartum, had a C-section what could it be?

Your Aorta: Any time a doc hears about a "pulsating" area in the abdomen, the Abdominal Aorta should come to mind, as that is often palpable and can at times be seen as a pulsatile area through the abdomen (which is a normal variant often). Get eval to be sure that is all it is. Best wishes. ...Read more

What could be the reason for a sharp stabbing pain near the incision 11 weeks post partum after a c section?

What could be the reason for a sharp stabbing pain near the incision 11 weeks post partum after a c section?

Probably adhesions: Post op incisional pain such as you are describing is pretty common. It is often difficult to know what exactly the pain is from or even where it is coming from. The tissue at the surgical site is less flexible than before surgery and tends to stretch and even tear a little bit during healing process which can take up to 6 months to complete. My guess is that this pain will resolve in a few days. ...Read more

I am approximately 3 month post partum and had an unexpected c-section with my daughter. If i were to get pregnant in the next 3 months could i vbac?

I am approximately 3 month post partum and had an unexpected c-section with my daughter. If i were to get pregnant in the next 3 months could i vbac?

Don't !: It is now advisable to wait at least two years between pregnancies, c/section or not. There is a slight increased risk of autism spectrum disorder in the newborn with pregnancies less than 2 years apart. Your body needs to heal as well. Your uterine scar definitely needs to heal more than 6 months. You would be taking a chance with a life-threatening uterine scar rupture in labor. ...Read more
