Can an abscessed tooth cause postauricular lymph node to enlarge? Node is smaller than a pea, does not hurt? Should this be checked immediately?
Not something urgent: This can wait until your infection improves. I like to give a couple (2-4) weeks at least if an lymph node is enlarged after an infection. Biopsy.: An enlarged lymph node can be normal, or it can be a due to cancer. Lymph nodes that enlarge due to an infection (normal) are usually sore. A 1cm lymph node is just on the edge of being too big. The only way to know if it's normal is to ultrasound and/or biopsy it. Lymphomas cause rubbery lymph nodes that often grow, but not always.
