I am 9 weeks post op for renal cell carcinoma (partial nephrectomy) and I have a jp pump and a nephrosty tube. For how long?

Await healing leak: Having a nephrostomy tube and jp drain for 9 weeks after a partial nephrectomy would be very unusual. I assume that this was because of a urine leak after surgery? Urine leaks, while rare, can occur, particularly if the tumor was large or very central in the kidney. However, your course is unusual and I would recommend you ask your surgeon specifically what the long term plan for management is.

Foot drop after radical nephrectomy surgery?

Foot drop after radical nephrectomy surgery?

Peroneal nerve: Isolated foot drop after surgery is likely due to pressure on the lateral aspect of the leg just below the knee during surgery. As seen in the picture, the peroneal nerve is at risk of pressure injury where it crosses the fibula. This kind of "palsy" due to pressure may recover spontaneously over weeks to months. If not, orthotics or surgery to graft a nerve along the injured area may help.

What are common post op reactions after nissen fold surgery?

Many: Most common initially is difficulty swallowing. This is normal and goes away w time. Long term, most pts can not burp, vomit, and have lots if gas/gurgling. This may get better over time (yrs). Don't let this dissuade u from surgery however. Most pts are extremely happy and have great quality of life. Worse the symptoms, better pts feel.

What are pain expectations. On post op carotid surgery?

What are pain expectations. On post op carotid surgery?

Can vary greatly: Any surgical procedure will have some sort of pain associated with it - because everyone tolerates pain differently, it's near impossible to truly answer your questions. Rest assured, your nurses and doctors post-operatively will monitor your pain levels and correct them as needed or as able. Remember, reasonable pain control does not mean you feel no pain / zero pain / zero out of 10 on the scale

How much pain should I feel post op ACL surgery?

How much pain should I feel post op ACL surgery?

Depends: That depends on a number of factors: 1) allograft or autograft - when using your own tendon (either patellar tendon or hamstring tendon), the donor site (where we get the tendon) typically hurts more than the acl reconstruction. 2) type of acl reconstruction - some surgeons are performing "all-inside" acl reconstructions that have significantly less surgical pain, 3) individual pain tolerance.

I'm 4 days post op from a laposcopic surgery. Is it still normal to get tired quickly?

Post op recovery: Any type of surgery even the less invasive laparoscopic surgery is an assault on the system. Depending on your general medical condition and the type of procedure recovery time can vary it can take a week or two to return to "normal". Some patients recover quicker some longer.

I'm having a turbinate reduction surgery, post op will I have to wear any sort of bandaging??

I'm having a turbinate reduction surgery, post op will I have to wear any sort of bandaging??

Maybe: Depending on the oozing, you might need to wear a mustache type dressing for a day or so. That is just to catch the blood that might drip. My patients are usually able to take it off later that day or the next. Ask your surgeon what you should expect. It is a good procedure and had worked well for my patients.

Hello im 27 male just had spinal fusion surgery and im experiencing increased PAIN IN MY BACK IM 2 MONTHS POST OP?

Be seen: A spinal fusion is a pretty large surgery and in some cases may take 3-6 months to fully recover from. I would just make sure that you are following your appropriate activity restrictions and make sure your surgeon is aware of your increased pain.
