What are the risks and side effects of uterine embolisation for fibroids?

Can it shut down ovarian function and trigger menopause?

Rarely: Overall, the risk of complications from uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) is quite low. Infection is the most serious risk, sometimes requiring hysterectomy. There is a small risk of premature menopause, seemingly higher in women over 40. It is probably more difficult to get pregnant after UFE.
