I am 46 near to menopause my ultrasound of pelvis says that uterus is a bit bulky and endometrial thickness is 0.9cm on 10th day what does that mean?
Depends...: If you are still having periods, a 9 mm endometrial thickness is in the normal range. However, if you are not yet menopausal, this is equivocal but your endometrium may thin out over time. The uterus being bulky is not really specific - i would ask your doctor what that means. Not always.: Anytime their is postmenopausal bleeding then an US evaluation of the uterine lining should be performed. If the endometrial stripe is more than 3-5 mm then an endometrial sample should be taken. This can usually be done in the office and does not require a D and C. Unclear: You did not ask a question so it is unclear what you are asking. If abnormal endometrial tissue is noted on a transvaginal sonogram then it should be investigated by hysteroscopy, D and C or at least an endometrial biopsy.
