I am 45, in menopause using natural progesterone cream at night. Recently I've had mild cramping at night. No bleeding. Progesterone side effect?
Natural P4: Possible but hard to say. If you mean otc 'natural progesterone' cream from a health nutrition store, none actually contain any progesterone. They're plant compounds that claim 'progestational activity.' in studies I've seen most, especially the mexican yam products, have estrogenic activity instead! Need biopsy: Bleeding in the menopause requires a biopsy of the uterus to rule out an abnormality such as cancer. An ultrasound is not enough. I would recommend you see your gynecologist and get a biopsy done. Worst case scenario, uterine cancer is found and cured with surgery alone. Don't delay. ...Read more
I am 45 with 3 failed ivfs, 5 yrs ago. Benign ovar. Cyst removed then. Last period jul 10. Hcg 464 (20 dpo) & 843 (22.5 dpo) mild cramp, no bleed, ache 1 side. Ectopic, cancer, menopause?
Is DPO days post ovulation? If so, your HCG roughly doubled in 48 hours...That is a good textbook rise! A mild cramp is common, and no bleeding is always good.
Seems to me you are pregnant! No indication of ectopic, no reason to think cancer (hcg producing cancers are typically seen in much younger women ie teens and 20's) and menopause doesn't give you rising hcg.
So for now, congrats and luck! ...Read more
