Post Hernia Surgery Pooling Blood In Scrotum
Is it normal for the scrotum to remain stiff/ irritated/swollen after natural draining of fluid post inguinal hernia repair surgery?
Here are some ...: Inguinal herniorrhaphy & fluid drainage naturally induce substantial tissue injury which heals through a process of body reaction with intense inflammation resulting in tissue induration & swelling, which may take a widely variable duration - weeks to months - to resolve. Generally speaking, it's okay as along as the affected area is slowly but surely getting less tender, painful and indurated... ...Read more

Will wearing compression garments help in post hernia repair(on jan 2014), hard ball like seroma in abdomen and strengthen surgery areas?
No help now: There are some repairs in the literature that have shown a benefit in preventing seromas by using a compression garment, but once one forms, it will most likely not help make it go away faster. I less it is causing problems, such as pain, or enlarging significantly, i tell my patients to proceed about their usual activities as it should resolve within 6 months. No need for ct scans or ultrasounds. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
What to do with 840 mililiters blood in abdomen after hernia surgery had hernia repair surgery on testicle was in bad pain 2 weeks later dr said blood floating around in abdomen
Many : Many times the blood you are talking about is bodily fluids tinged with blood. Sometimes you don't even have to drain that fluid. I'm assuming they did because you have an exact measure of 840 milliliters... Either way many times a collection of bodily fluids or even frank blood as long as the bleeding stopped is left alone for your body to deal with. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

M28, could sneezing and coughing 50 days after surgery cause to recur hernia(note it was large inguinal hernia, repaired with mesh in open style)?
Yes, it's possible: Anything that will raise the pressure in the abdomen can exert the same pressure on a hernia and cause it to recur, despite having just had a repair. While 50 days is right within the threshold of regaining maximal tissue strength, hernia repairs can fail at anytime. Even months or years later. Have your surgeon re-evaluate. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

DVT: or blood clots in veins is treated by blood thinners and compression. Continue normal activities. If leg is too tight you may need angiogram to evaluate the extent of clot. If clot extends up from groin, it should be treated by medicines that dissolve the clot. Also it depends on when you developed the clot. These issues need to be discussed with your physician. Hope that helps. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Possible: The location of a femoral hernia is adjacent to the femoral vein and artery going down the leg. I suppose if excess scar tissue built up, it could compress on these structures, but in general, i expect scar tissue to fill empty space and mesh, not compress on adjacent structures. An ultrasound could evaluate the flow of blood in these vessels to determine if any flow has been compromised. ...Read more
