Inflammation (red, hot, swollen, tender) is important to healing so anti-inflammatories (motrin, advil) are bad. Cover with a clean dressing changed every other day and protected from trauma. No problem: People swallow cherry pits (by accident) all the time without problems. I'm guessing you've heard cherry pits contain amygdalin, a substance that is broken down into cyanide. Apple seeds, almonds and apricot pits also have amygdalin. You'd probably need to eat 100 or more ground cherry pits to get a toxic dose. Some believe that small amounts of amygdalin prevent cancer.
