How much pain Rx?: I'm wondering a few things. First, why did you have a hysterectomy? Did you have a posterior repair or other surgical procedures? Second did you suddenly stop taking pain meds? Is there an area that you can press on that worsens pain? Infection is a concern with new onset pain of that intensity at this point post op. Nerves can be damaged during surgery as well. Contact your surgeon right away.

My wife aged 43 yrs undergone hysterectomy op has developed passing stool with urine. MRI suspects VVF. Is is possible in vvf to pass stool with urine?

Fistula: Vvf is a vesicovaginal fistula, which is a tract that connects the bladder (vesico) to the vagina. This type of fistula may allow urine to enter the vagina. A rectovaginal fistula may allow fecal matter to pass into the vagina. Corrective surgery may be needed to stop the misdirection of feces and prevent infection

I had a hysterectomy 3 months ago & am still having bowel movement issues. Is this normal?

Not necessarily: Your statement is too vague to render answer or opinion. What type of bowel movement concerns do you have? Constipated? Diarrhea? Bleeding or blood in stool? Straining or difficulty evacuating stool? Have you ever had a colonoscopy? Check with your surgeon and get referred to gastroenterologist if you have not had a colonoscopy; have bleeding and/or unresolved problems with your bowels.

I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy on August 27. Have been recently having bowel issues and haven't had a bowel movement in 5 days (that was a small).?

Unrelated: Four months later it is unlikely that this is related to the hysterectomy unless you have some post-op adhesions which could cause a partial obstruction. That would usually cause some pain too. Try starting with increased fluids and fiber. Many GI doctors recommend Miralax (polyethylene glycol). If this doesn't help, talk to your primary care provider.

Spotty bleeding after bowel movement (hysterectomy 10yrsago) need to worry? 50 years old

Spotty bleeding after bowel movement (hysterectomy 10yrsago) need to worry? 50 years old

Probably: Probably not. This of course, depends on the reason for the hysterectomy and your current menopausal status. If the hysterectomy was complete (removed cervix) for benign reasons there is little to worry about. Obviously persistend or increasing bleeding should be evaluated.

I had a stool softening suppository placed in my vagina by accident. Will it cause harm? I am having some bleeding. I've had a hysterectomy.

I had a stool softening suppository placed in my vagina by accident. Will it cause harm? I am having some bleeding. I've had a hysterectomy.

Not harmful: It is not harmful to have the suppository in the vagina. I you have had an hysterectomy and are bleeding from the vagina this should be evaluated by a gynecologist. They need to determine the source of the bleeding.

I had a hysterectomy with a colon cleanse 6 days ago. I still haven't had a bowel movement. Should I be concerned?

Probably normal: If you're passing gas, then I would not be worried about it. If you're not passing gas, or if you're feeling the urge to stool but cannot pass it, call your surgeon.

I have had bright red blood from the vaginal area after a bowel movement, hysterectomy 8 years ago, only a few swipes of blood, happened 6x in 3 weeks?

I have had bright red blood from the vaginal area after a bowel movement, hysterectomy 8 years ago, only a few swipes of blood, happened 6x in 3 weeks?

Possible reasons: To spot after a bm 8 years after a hysterectomy include - a sore in the vagina, hemorrhoids, a growth on the urethra. If the cervix was left at the time of the hysterectomy then a polyp on the cervix could cause spotting. The best way to know is to get an exam from your doctor.

How long do you have pain urinating and pain with bowel movement after a total hysterectomy surgery?

How long do you have pain urinating and pain with bowel movement after a total hysterectomy surgery?

Depends: In general it should not be painful to urinate or have a bowel movement. Of course pain is relative to the individual having the pain. It is common to have bladder and bowel symptoms especially cramping with urination and constipation. If prolonged or true burning with urination or severely increasing abdominal pain or fever, call your doctor.

I had a hysterectomy 5 years ago. I now have a 4cm cyst on my left ovary. I have abdominal pain on the left side when I have a bowel movement.?

Here are some. ..: Apparently, you had hysterectomy for benign but undesirable condition so ovaries still left behind. Now, the pain at left side of abdomen at BM may or may not be related with the 4-cm ovarian cyst. Clinically, such differentiation can be suggested by following in structionshttp://formefirst. Some pain normal...: Some pain around the time of a BM is normal after a hysterectomy. However, if it becomes worse or is persistent, you should let your surgeon know about it. Best wishes!

Bowel movement and blood came out, wiped and it was like having a period (i had a hysterectomy so no) mucus recently in stool, bloating, what to do?

Hematoma: Hi! It is possible that you had a hematoma (a collection of blood and clot) after surgery that just opened and drained after the bowel movement. If you have nothing further and no symptoms (fever especially) there is no cause for concern, but if you are having other symptoms or fever, pain, etc. Call your doctor. Dr brown.
