Poop Problems From Colonoscopy
Bloating below naval for a year. Colonoscopy normal. Stool comes out without any problem. What tests do i need?
Belly bloating: There are lots of reasons for abdominal discomfort & bloating, & not all of them are due to the GI tract. Even "functional" syndromes may be present without underlying "disease." however PSBO (paralyzed gut) due to metabolic & inflammatory conditions nearby (like an untreated infection of the urinary tract)must be considered & addressed. Check with your doctor for examination & treatment options. ...Read more

Anus skin is peeling, had a colonoscopy and after that the this problem started, also had a fistulotomy , biopsy taken, dr said its not crohns, ocancer?
Apply vaseline: You must have developed extra dry skin due to irritation from the procedure or some allergy. I would suggest applying vaseline or something similar at least twice a day for one week. If the symptoms are getting better, continue applying till the scaling and itch clears out. If not better then make an appointment to see your primary doctor. ...Read more
I have blood in stool. I've had 4 colonoscopy. Negative results. Had diverticulitis before. What could my problem be?
Maybe not colonic...: Evaluation is always appropriate for re-bleeding from the gut. Black stool often means bleeding from upper GI tract; grape jelly stool from small bowel; silver stool from biliary tree; burgundy stool from right colon; red blood from left colon to anal canal. Any accompanying symptoms? Do you take NSAID's, over-use alcohol, smoke tobacco, have other risks (AVM's for example)--lots to consider. ...Read more
Been having constipation problems for a bit. Had a tiny bit of red stuff on stool. Negative colonoscopy. Are colonscopys accurate can they miss cancer?
Hemorrhoids, fissure: The most likely cause of the "red stuff" would be hemorrhoids, but a fissure is possible as well. Colonoscopies can miss lesions, such as cancer, but the miss rate is very, very low. Check out the cause for the presumptive rectal bleeding with you gastroenterologist or colorectal surgeon. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

What could this be, rectal bleeding with clumping of 100% straight blood ? "no stool just bright blood" I am trying to help my husband with this problem. He has been to a doctor and a colonoscopy and MRI were done. The colonoscopy was said to show only
Internal hemorrhoids: This type of large amounts of bright red bleeding without stool and no pain and a negative colonoscopy is almost always due to vascular internal hemorrhoid, you need to see a colon and rectal surgeon, many times this can be treated with a simple office procedure (rbl). ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
When i make bowel movement it hurts no constipated soft stool colonoscopy done while i was awake no problem with hemorrhoids is there cream to buy?
Common complaint: Most people return to the same bowel habits after a procedure like this but a few notice more frequent stooling. This should return to your baseline with resumption of a regular diet and activity. If you had an antibiotic for the procedure you may have diarrhea associated with that. If this doesn't resolve in a couple of weeks or if you have fever, bleeding or nighttime diarrhea, see your dr. ...Read moreSee 3 more doctor answers
Could be bleeding...: Black poop after colonoscopy may reflect blood in your stool, especially after having polyps removed during the procedure. Other causes could relate to your preparation used to clean out your colon, or entirely unrelated issues such as bismuth medication or even blood from your upper GI tract. This symptom should be reported to your surgeon promptly. ...Read more
Anytime you're ready: Before a colonoscopy is done, the colon is cleaned throughly by lots of laxatives. So you should not have any stool left in the colon (best case scenario). If there is stool left, it is much harder to do a good colonoscpy. Once the procedure is finished, you can poop any time you are ready. ...Read more
