Why is my 2 yr/o pooping so much 5 or more x a day, and different colos, textures, and causing burning diaper rashes?
At this age: Two years old love juice and consume tons of it and parents let them. Unaware the large sugar content in these juice cause diarrhea/ loose stools making it too acidic for the skin leading to excoriation and sensitive skin. Stop the juice. Apply an antacid like maalox to the diaper areas to neutralize the acid and speed up healing process. See peds for script if positive for yeast infection. ...Read more

You may have: To see a healthcare provider so they can directly visualize your anus/ rectum. There are ways to accomplish this in a clinic or outpatient setting. Frequent stools are either causing rectal irritation, hemorrhoids or a fissure. If the loose stool is transient, the problem should be limited. If the loose stools are chronic, you need to be evaluated for the cause.
