Hi, I had a cosmetic filler in the tear troughs & cheeks 3yrs ago. No numbness but feels like water dripping, weird sensations at times. Suggestions?

Can happen: If the filler was high enough it can distort the tear duct and change the normal flow of eye moisture. It is usually nothing to worry about. Removal of the filler may OR may not return it to normal--50/50 ...Read more

Go to Your doctor: This could represent a site injection reaction, minor bleeding or an immune reaction (allergic reaction) at the site of injection. More seriously, this could represent an early infection. Your doctor should check this out. ...Read more

Fillers are helpful: The two fillers you have mentioned are both capable of filling the tear trophs. They are both made out of hyaluronic acid. There are many different fillers that use this substance. Discuss your goals with an experienced injector and the right product can be selected. ...Read more

Is there an fda approved permanent filler that can be used in tear trough? I will be getting cheek implants/rhinoplasty -will speak to the surgeon. Ty

No: The skin of the tear trough is very thin and that makes it very difficult to design a "perfect filler." some have use fat injections, thinking that they would be soft and permanent however they can sometimes get firm and then create little "bumps" that are difficult to get rid of. Too much of the hyaluronic fillers (restylane, juvederm, etc) can create a "translucent" look to the skin. ...Read more

Not: Not knowing what medications you're taking I suggest you consult with your internist. Any anti-coagulants (blood thinning medications) would cause bruising. However I'm not aware of any medications that would cause problems with the radiesse (dermal fillers). ...Read more

Is it okay to get dermal fillers for indentations under eyes if I had a drug induced psychosis 6 yrs ago can anything in it make me reoccour?

Is it okay to get dermal fillers for indentations under eyes if I had a drug induced psychosis 6 yrs ago can anything in it make me reoccour?

Unlikely reaction: Dermal fillers for the eye are made up of hyaluronic acid (ha's). Ha's are a naturally occurring carbohydrates (sugar) present in our soft tissues. It would be extremely unlikely for you to have a drug reaction to ha. I recommend Restylane or belotero as dermal fillers for the lower lid. These should be injected by an experienced oculoplastic surgeon or cosmetic surgeon comfortable around the eye. ...Read more

Does dysport act as a filler in any way?

Does dysport act as a filler in any way?

Not a filler: Dysport is used to smooth dynamic wrinkles that occur with expression or other activation. If untreated these dynamic wrinkles may create static creases between the brows, on the forehead, and around the eyes. If desired, fillers like Restylane (dermal fillers) or belotero may be used "off label" to fill and smooth such creases. Even then, continued use of Dysport for relaxation of the dynamic wrinkles is advised. ...Read more

Can you tell me about sculptra injectable filler?

Collagen Production: Sculptra works by stimulating collagen production in the skin. When you first have the "fill" the volume you get is water. This then goes away and the Sculptra remains. Your body then builds up the collagen and breaks down the Sculptra, leaving behind an increase in volume due to the collagen. A filler may correct for nasolabial folds & last a long time. But what happens when the face naturally changes over the year? Any uneven facial areas?

Adjust techniques: Fillers may reverse signs of aging but the clock keeps ticking. You can't expect a person who has fillers at age 50 to require the same techniques when they get to see 60. Eventually more fillers or lasers or even surgery may be recommended to accomplished greater corrections with aging. Uneven facial areas may be temporarily caused by fillers but are not typically permanent with resorbable filler ...Read more
