Cystic Fibrosis?: The symptoms of nasal polyps vary depending on size. Usually, there is nasal drainage, post-nasal drainage, nasal obstruction, loss of sense of smell and of course visualization of the polyps with a scope. Can you get empty nose syndrome without turbinectomy? Had FESS 3 weeks ago. Third in last 4 yrs. Dr said he only removed polyps near middle turbinate.
"Empty Nose Syndrome" (ENS) is seen after extensive turbinate reduction not after the simple removal of nasal polyps!

No No: It may be safe but I doubt that it would be helpful. Nasal polyps if diagnosed properly is a genetic disease of the lateral wall of the nose and may grow both into the nose and block the sinuses at the side and under the eyes. Steroids by mouth or intranasal steroids may be helpful. See an ENT doctor for a proper diagnosis to determine the size and location of the polyps. ...Read more

You'reJustTooNosey..: Sounds like an infection. And it can really hurt in there. There are lots of nerve endings and not much space for swelling so it can hurt bad. And if you keep touching and squeezing it you're in for a world of hurt. Plus, that whole area is a bad place to get an infection because if it spreads, it's "straight to the brain, " as they say.
