Immediately: A sigmoidoscopy only checks the distal third (sigmoid) portion of the colon and colon cancer can occur anywhere in the colon. Since you had polyps, they may need to be biopsied if they were not. Since your dr. Sigmoid polyp removed in colonoscopy. Got 2nd gi's opinion + 2nd scope 3 months later. He saw colitis in sigmoid, but biopsies normal. Both gis diagnosis me w ibs. How am i still bleeding and having fevers?
