Inner vs Outer: If this an inner ear infection then the antibiotic ointment will not be helpful. I recommend making an appointment with your PCP or an ENT to see if you have an infection. Two reasons: Getting worse, first what you have is most likely a viral infection, second you may have an allergy to sulas or other component of poly yin drops. ...Read more

Eye drops in ears: Because eye drops are formulated to be quite gentle, they often can be used in the ears and are well tolerated by most patients, but they could still sting or burn a little. Ideally, the kind of drops that we use to treat swimmer's ear include antibiotics and steroids as well as a drying agent.
