Im 19 &my period is irregular due to polycystic ovaries,& had reocattane(for acne-7months).So im taking OVA CURE& worried if it causes acne/hairloss?

PCOS: What is most likely causing your acne and hair loss is the PCOS. With PCOS your androgen (male hormone) levels are too high which leads to male-pattern hair loss and acne. It sounds like your case is fairly severe. You might do better with some combination of spironolactone (blocks androgen receptor) and finasteride (blocks production of dihydrotestosterone). Need 2 forms of contraception though. ...Read more

Get checked.: Sometimes there are other causes for some of the same symptoms that occur with women with PCOS. A doctor can evaluate your symptoms and do appropriate testing to see if you do have it. Women with PCOS have been shown to be at risk for developing Type II diabetes, so getting a sure diagnosis is a smart thing to do. See http://tinyurl.com/or6nyss ...Read more

Polycystic ovaries, but they are normal size (not enlarged)? Also normal sized uterus? Is it definitely pcos, I have acne, irreg cycle, hirsutism?

Could be, but: Every woman has cysts in their ovaries. That doesn't mean a diagnosis of pcos, which is often a clinical diagnosis. Acne, weight gain, irregular menses and hair growth are common in pcos, so you may have the disorder, but you need to check w/your doctor, not the internet for a diagnosis. ...Read more

Is isotretinoin is a permanent solution for acne even if polycystic ovary remains?

Is isotretinoin is a permanent solution for acne even if polycystic ovary remains?

No: It is a good treatment that will keep even severe disease at bay for many months after other modalities such as topical or systemic antibiotics, topical retinoids, the oral contraceptive pill and/or spironolactone have failed or not been usable.
