Pollen Skin Rash
Hi, my 22 month old son has a rash-like skin reaction on his back, torso and abdominal area. I first noted it yesterday on his back, since spread posteriorly. No changes in soaps, no new food or medication given. He is allergic to pollen, dust, etc.

Runny nose?: I have looked around and it has been difficult to find the typical rash caused by methimazole. I would ask about timing of methimazole to when the rash appeared, if weather, I would expect also runny nose, itchy eyes and maybe sore throat and cough. I can say that medication induced rashes are usually generalized, not only in one area. I would suggest discussing with Endo or Derm. Hope it helps ...Read more

OTC if not serious: I'm guessing your daughter has a rash caused by a pollen allergy? If the rash is not too serious, an otc ointment cream containing hydrocortisone, or calamine lotion, may be helpful.
