Yes: For a long while, the manufacturers put on their package insert that people with heart disease shouldn't use nicotine replacement therapy (NRT). However, it is entirely clear that the greatest risk to health in people with heart disease is continued tobacco smoking, and NRT is clearly safest. For some people the gum reduces withdrawal symptoms, including nicotine craving.
