I have my 2nd surgical hernia my doc gave me a CRT with dye. My creatinine (POC) level was 120. Is this high? What does it mean.

Talk w/your doc: When reviewing your test results, check out the normal reference range. Abnormal results are usually highlighted, boldfaced or placed in "abnormal" column. Creatinine is what we measure in your blood to check kidney function but true measure of kidney function depends upon age, gender, weight & ethnicity which is used to calculate eGFR (estimated glomerular filtration rate). So go chat w/your doc. Read more

Creatinine 1.3 is it bad?

Maybe (not). . .: It depends. Don't you hate those answers? Creatinine is only a partial assessment of your kidney function. For complete interpretation, we also need your gender (female in your case, I presume), age, ethnicity & body weight. These values are then incorporated into the egfr which is a better measure of your kidney function. Most labs automatically calculate this so ask for result. Normal is 90-100+. Read more

Is 1.29 creatinine is high?

Is 1.29 creatinine is high?

It depends: If you're a well-muscled or just a husky / big man, this is normal. When I was lifting weights every day, mine ran 1.6-1.7. You're a person, not a bunch of numbers. You'll even find labs that will give an adjustment for people of african descent "because black people are more muscular." this is subscience. Stop worrying. Read more

Is creatinine 1.3 is safe?

It depends: If you're a well-muscled man, this is normal. When I was lifting weights every day, my creatinine ran 1.6-1.7. If you're a petite lady, this is cause for concern. Get it rechecked if this is you. Read more

Is creatinine 1.3 is normal?

Labs: Whereas the lab falls out of "normal range"--- it needs to be evaluated further with a recheck, urinalysis and possibly even a 24 hour urine creatinine clearance. Might be normal for a muscular or large built 18year old (or affected by a large steak dinner/ medications) Read more

Is 1.21 creatinine level low?

No: It is in the normal range and there is no pathologic low level of creatinine. See this site for more info. Http://www. Mayoclinic. Com/health/creatinine/my00144/dsection=results. Read more

Is 1.03 bad creatinine level?

Creatinine: Creatinine level depends on many things....Age, race, sex, muscle mass. For women, the usual creatinine is between 0.6 and 1mg/dl. For men, between 0.9 and 1.4mg/dl. As we age, the creatinine should lower slightly (less muscle mass). The number is important but so are the trends. Usually, I am not very concerned with a creatinine of 1 unless its someone very young or very small/frail. Read more

Is creatinine of 11.4 dangerous?

Is creatinine of 11.4 dangerous?

Elevated creatinine: Elevated creatinine is ussually a sign of kidney disease, patient with high muscle mass may have higher level of creatinine than those with low muscle mass, a crush injury can cause elevated creanine. Patient with severe with kidney disease (elevated creatinine) may need to be placed on dialysis. Read more

Is normal creatinine 1.5 or 1.3?

Is normal creatinine 1.5 or 1.3?

Whoa: You're asking about two different labs using a different value for the top of the reference range cited for creatinine. Please disabuse yourself, now, of the notion that these are "healthy ranges". Each lab looks at is own population ; statistics. When I was lifting weights daily, my creatinine stayed at 1.7; if a slim girl had a creatinine of 1.1 i'd wonder about kidney damage. Read more

What make creatinine levels rise?

What make creatinine levels rise?

Low kidney function: You have decreased renal (kidney) function. You should get seen by your primary doctor to find out the cause. Possible causes are: chronic high blood pressure, undiagnosed diabetes, chronic nsaid's (e.g. Ibuprofen use.), polycystic kidneys, lupus, bladder/kidney obstruction, artery blockage (stenosis) etc... Creatinine 3.0 what does it mean?

Creatinine 3.0 what does it mean?

Diagnosis needed: Serum creatinine is affected by gender, age, race, muscular build, and renal function. A rising creatinine is always of concern. "normal" on lab tests is generally less than 1.2 mg/dl. Renal function can be estimated with a more complex formula or measured with a 24 h urine collection. See your internist for further evaluation. Read more

How to decrease creatinine levels?

How to decrease creatinine levels?

May not need to: Lab testing isn't "one size fits all." a lab may list 1.2 as the "upper limit of the reference range", but a muscular patient can and should have a higher level. When I was lifting daily, my creatinine stayed at 1.6, and an elite bodybuilder's is likely to 2.0 or so. The level itself doesn't make you sick; it's just one piece of information to tell whether there's kidney disease. Read more

Is a 2 creatinine level dangerous?

Interpretation: Serum creatinine is affected by protein intake, gender, age, race, muscular build, and renal function. A rising creatinine is always of concern. "normal" on lab tests is generally less than 1.2 mg/dl. Renal function can be estimated with a more complex formula or measured with a 24 h urine collection. Read more

How can I reduce creatinine levels?

Treat the cause: High creatinine level is not a problem in and of itself. High creat does not cause a problem or symptoms. Rather, it is a sign that the kidney is slow eliminating waste (including creatinine waste). This slow function is due to a reason whether it is kidney tissue aging or disease or other reasons like blockage of kidney flow. If u decrease creat without improving kidneys, u still have a problem. Read more

Between 0.5-1.2: The typical reference ranges for serum creatinine are 0.5 to 1.0 mg/dl for women and 0.7 to 1.2 mg/dl for men. Look for refernce values from the particular lab. Read more
