With bacterial pneumonia, there is usually a fair amount of fluid in the lungs, and thus the capacity may be compromised. Inhaling pool water: Aspiration pneumonia usually occurs in debilitated patients who cannot protect their airway. I can imagine when u accidentally inhaled some pool water, u coughed vigorously. This is your body's way of protecting u. Patients that get aspiration pneumonia have largely lost this protective effect. If any pool water did somehow make it deep into your lungs, I believe u will recover just fine. ...Read more
