Mgt: From your description, the mucus may actually be from post nasal drip. I would advise a nasal rinse at night and in the morning. If the cough continues for more than 2 weeks, or is associated with pain/fever/distress, please see your physician. ...Read more

Sprained muscle: Most likely you pulled or sprained a muscle while coughing. Some patients have been known to break ribs with a severe cough. I assume they did X-Rays already. I would avoid any heavy lifting with the left arm and mild pain relievers. It should get better by itself ...Read more

Cannot tell...: We need more information as to what symptoms are you having? Who diagnosed you with pneumonia if anyone? Why do you think you would need tubes?
