Pnuemococcal vaccine: Excellent question. Current recommendation is that if first dose was given before age 55, 1 additional booster dose given after 5 years. Otherwise, no booster dose needed. Kids are a little different because there are 2 types of vaccine used in some kids who are high risk for disease (like if they have sickle cell, no spleen).
