Depends: It depends on what organ is getting transplanted and how likely the recipient is going to have a rejection episode and what other medical conditions the patient has. The drugs are not able to get to these hiding places to kill hiv, thus no cure. ...Read more
Who says it is?: Addiction is not a function of the drug as much as it is a function of the person who is TAKING that drug. Most people who drink are not addicted to alcohol, but 10% or so are. The same number is true of marijuana, with about 10% of users having dependency. It has a very mild withdrawal syndrome for one, compared to alcohol, tranquilizers or opiates, and doesn't have the euphoria of stimulants. ...Read more

Talk to your doc!: 15mg? Not 1.5mg? That's a pretty good size dose! regardless, talk to your prescribing physician and tell him/her what you just wrote - that you want to quit. You'll need to taper off slowly to avoid withdrawal (http://en.Wikipedia.Org/wiki/benzodiazepine_withdrawal_syndrome) which can be life-threatening if not deadly. So work w/your doc to taper off. You might need something else temporarily. ...Read more
Express Concern: First, there is little you can do that is effective unless the communications are about what you see and what you feel. Expressing concern and being nonjudgmental is a good start. Having everyone in the family or social circle saying the same message is vital. Please tell me if it is possible to be "addicted" to drugs in general, and not one specific substance?
No: the term becomes meaningless when thought of in this way. Addiction is not just physical dependency, but a complex biopsychosocial response to life and its pressures. There are people who are risk-takers and will try everything, and potentially abuse everything, including non-drug issues like gambling, the internet, sex etc. This is more of a personality disorder issue than it is addiction. ...Read more
Please help! what is the rate of restenosis of coronaries comparing the use of drug eluded & plain stents?
Not simple: Kind of a complex question. Basically most of the studies were done with the 1st generation stents. Hi. I have been prescribed Xenex XL but haven't started taking it yet. Can you please tell me may I start taking the drug the day after drinking?
No no! : alcohol and benzodiazepines can be a lethal combination. You will not get a physician on here to give you the OK to take the xanax (alprazolam) in any periodof time after drinking alcohol. That discussion should be had between you and your primary care physician that prescribed you that medication. Keep in the back of your mind by mixing those two it can be lethal and I have seen it myself multiple times unfor ...Read more
