I don't believe that we have a complete explanation but we do know that change in temperature and barometric pressure can change the pressure around the tissues and joints. Best answered: By someone reviewing your xrays and examining your foot. Residual pain is certainly plausible from the injury itself...Osteoarthritis is a possibility as well.
