My 24 year old daughter w/ her OBGYN's direction started Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) 36 hours ago for urinary tract infection, next day sore throat, today w/ plaques.??
Unrelated issues: There is no relationship between UTI symptoms and a sore throat.Bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) is also not a treatment that would cure strep if that were the issue. A simple office quick test can separate the strep from the viral causes that require no antibiotics. ...Read more
Not a sign of plaque: 30% block in your carotid artery will not cause pain in your neck area. It is an indicator that it can compromise the blood flow to the brain if gets worse. One has to control the LDL levels in blood and bring it down with statins and diet.If it it prgresses to 60% or more, than you will need endarterectomy and reduce the chances of it leading to stroke. ...Read more
See a cardiologist:
A cardiologist would likely order a CT scan of your carotids (the arteries in your neck) & also check whether type 2 diabetes is contributing to the plaque formation Starting you on a statin (a cholesterol lowering drug) would certainly be a option.
Hope this helps

Pacemaker leads are located in veins of the upper chest, not in the neck arteries. Not sure if you have a different wire that lodged in the neck due to trauma/injury?

One of my sons teeth had hard white plaque I think on it cause I has a white spot on the side of his teeth. Is It possible to get it back to normal?
That depends: That depends on what is actually going on. Hardened plaque is called calculus. This can be easily removed by the dentist and the tooth returned to normal. The beginning of a cavity can also look like a white spot. This is harder to resolve and may require a filling. Your son needs an exam by a pediatric dentist to determine what is going on and how to solve this problem. ...Read more

If I had damage on the right side of my penis, would Peyronie's disease plaque show up on the top (dorsal) of my penis?
Penile Trauma: If you had trauma on the right side of the penis you would not develop a Peyronies plaque dorsally. I must say, I have never seen a 16 year old with Peyronie's disease and I doubt that what you are feeling is relating to Peyronie's disease. You should see a physician to help determine what you are feeling. ...Read more

In peyrione's disease are the plaque's or the curving ever on the side? Most sites say it's on dorsal or bottom. Is the side very very rare in this?

Higher concentration may be irritating with repeated use. High dose vitamin E (1, 000 IU) per day has also been used. ...Read more

Can stenosis return after celiac artery compression surgery? Pain nausea steatorrea back. Sma plaque also. Could ischemia be from SMA alone?
Complicated Question: Celiac artery compression syndrome (cacs) is the condition usually associated with the surgery you've described. Stenosis does not generally return after surgery for cacs. Chronic mesenteric ischemia can be from SMA stenosis in isolation, however, this would not include steatorrhea. With back pain, nausea, and steatorrhea I would consider pancreatitis or some other issue with the pancreas. ...Read more
