Male sperm are known to 'swim faster' and in the race to impregnate the egg male sperm sometimes win that race. On rare occasions, if mom has medical conditions that produce certain hormones, it can affect the way a baby girl's genitalia look to make them look somewhat male, but she is still genetically a female. But the edc may be adjusted on the basis of early ultrasound exams which can pinpoint the due date to plus or minus less than one week. Ultrasound dates are based on fetal measurements. While nothing: Is 100%, if the u/s saw a penis and scrotum, only a very masculinized vulva could mimic. It sounds like he/she OB is certain that your fetus has male gender.
