Usually one only: You can discuss this with your physician. It depends on when you want the intervention after intercourse. Doubling on these types of medication could cause more side effects. Your physician can answer this better because she or he will know about your case, life style, co-morbidities, etc. ...Read more

Overweight (Definition)

Nearly two-thirds of the United States population is overweight. There are many ways to determine if a person is overweight, but experts believe that a person's body mass index (BMI) is the best way to assess an adult's weight in relation to their height. * A BMI between 18.5 and 24.9 is considered normal. * Adults with a BMI between 25 and 29.9 are considered overweight. There are exceptions. For example, an athlete may have a higher BMI but not be overweight. * Adults with a BMI greater than 30 are considered obese. * Adults with a BMI greater than or equal to 40 are considered extremely obese. * Anyone more than 100 pounds overweight is considered morbidly obese. Plan b: Plan B is better than nothing and can be obtained right now without a prescription. Speed is probably more important than perfect dosing . For the future be aware that oral contraceptive pills are also less effective in obese women. May happen without: Not all women will notice the "egg white" stringy discharge at the time of ovulation. Also, the timing of ovulation is not always predictable, and can be affected by hormonal contraceptives. Alcohol and drugs should, of course, be avoided when a woman is trying to get pregnant. ...Read more

Very low, however...: Even with Plan B there's still a very small chance. I suggest doing a home pregnancy test, and if that's negative and you're still concerned... Do another one 1 week later. Best of luck. ...Read more

Perhaps: There is some evidence that emergency contraception (EC) progestin-only pills are less effective if your BMI is >30. Ella/ulipristal acetate may be more effective than the Plan B/progestin only. Having a copper IUD inserted as EC is the most effective, 99%, equally so among all women regardless of weight. Reliable non-emergency contraception is your goal. Best wishes:) ...Read more
