Infections are invasions of some other organism (fungus, bacteria, parasite) or viruses into places where they do not belong. For instance, we have normal gut bacteria that live within us without causing problems; however, when those penetrate the bowel wall and enter the bloodstream, ...Read more
I took the Plan B pill yesterday and I need to start taking pills for a yeast infection. Is it okay to begin taking them today or will it effect the Plan B?
I'm on tri previfem and took plan b 3 weeks ago. I have a yeast infection w/blood. Is the blood from plan b or is it a sign of implantation? Nervous
Confusing: If you are already on birth control pills then there is no need to take Plan B as you were already protected. Implantation bleeding only occurs if you are pregnant which is not likely since you are on birth control. Yeast does not usually cause blood. I suspect you just triggered some bleeding from adding Plan B on top of your birth control. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
A lil over a week ago, I had unprotected sex & then took plan b pill. I think starting yesterday I've been experiencing vaginal itching?? Also I'm taking medicine that the doctor said I may get a yeast infection, I'm thinking it's that but I'm not sure.
Yeast is possible: Genital itching is the most common symptom of vaginal yeast, and your question suggests you're probably taking an antibiotic which can trigger yeast infections. But first check with the doctor who prescribed the antibiotic; she may want to see you in person. Good luck! ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
I'm on tri-previfem. I still bought plan b after unprotected sex then we used a condom the next day I have a yeast infection with blood now. Am I preg?
Pregnant?: From what you describe pregnancy is very unlikely. The best thing to do is after you have missed a period get a home pregnancy test kit from your friendly pharmacist and check a first morning voided urine. If you do not miss a period do not bother. Get your yeast infection treated and if your discharge remains bloody see your GYN. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
On Nuva Ring, took Plan B a week and 3 days ago & period is 1 day late. Currently have yeast infection, cramps and yellow discharge, what is happening?
Doctor can evaluate: Plan B can alter the menstrual bleeding for the cycle in which Plan B was taken, and sometimes the next cycle too. One should be sure to check a home pregnancy test about 3 weeks after sex, because Plan B works most of the time, but not all the time. A primary care or Ob-Gyn doctor can evaluate to see why the other vaginal symptoms are happening, and check for infections. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›

Be examined: Based on your description it may be something your perineum, or bottom area is coming in contact with. Be checked to make sure it is not something else. I don't believe it is related to Plan B. Benadryl if no allergies and cold packs may be helpful. Bathing in Aveeno may also help. ...Read moreGet help from a doctor now ›
