Posterior placenta 3.4-3.8cm from os 28w. Can it cause bleeding during lower segment formation? Or not over area that stretches? Csec booked

Sounds normal: Based only on this one piece of limited information the placenta is in a normal location. We look for the placenta to be more than 2 cm away from the cervical os. Yours sounds normal. If a c section is planned I would clarify with the doctor the rationale and make sure all is explained to you to your satisfaction ...Read more

Placenta:posterior, dipping to the lower uterine segment os grade "o" maturity is it safe?

Yes: As long as the placenta does not dip down so low as to block the cervix (a placenta previa) this is not a problem. Grade 0 simply means that the placenta is still immature which is what is expected. Increased placental maturity too early is potentially a problem. ...Read more

I just had my five months anomaly scan n was told that my placenta is posterior grade0 maturity, 3 CM away from OS. What does this mean???

All good: Your placenta is on the Barack wall of your uterus and well above your cervix so it won't be in the way when the baby comes out and it isn't getting old and wearing out. It should still do a good job of nourishing the baby. It's all good. ...Read more

Are there any restrictions with a posterior placenta at 20 weeks?

Are there any restrictions with a posterior placenta at 20 weeks?

No restrictions.: A "posterior placenta" is safely away from the cervical opening and should not have an increased risk of bleeding, therefore no restrictions. However, placenta previa and marginal previa have an increased risk of bleeding during pregnancy because the placenta covers or lies very close to the cervical opening. These conditions would require a restriction on intercourse. ...Read more

UTZ report at uau19 wks 5 days shows fetus in transverse position, placenta posterior grade 2, previa totalis. Will this improve? Or cs is the option

Likely to improve: Placenta previa diagnosed in second trimester most often resolves by 3rd trimester. Usually by that time, the fetus is head down and vaginal delivery is an option.
Follow closely with ultrasounds this pregnancy to help guide your decision. Unlikely but if the placenta previa persists, then a csection is needed ...Read more

I am 4months pregnant and is said that I have a placenta posterior low lying grade 0 is there a posibility that placenta will move? What will I do?

Uterus grows: A low lying placenta at 4 months is something to monitor but not something to panic about. The placenta does not actually move but as the uterus grows the placenta will then be the normal position. It is too early in the pregnancy to be thinking about a C-section for low lying placentas. The majority of these will be resolved on later sonograms. ...Read more

I am Jasjeet 28 years old. It is my 2nd pregnancy at 21 week. My placenta is low lying reached 3mm from the OS. It is posterior Plz help me m worried?

Placentas "travel": Placentas tend to travel upward from the cervical os as the pregnancy progresses. If you have not been experiencing bleeding at this point there is hope that will occur. If bleeding starts call your OB MD immediately as hemorrhages are common with low lying placentas and can be quite "dramatic" in amounts. ...Read more

Is it a previa if placenta is posterior w/ its lower edge @ the level of internal os. Grade 0? . doc advise no sex. Will it hurt if we do?

Previa: It sounds like you have at least a low lying placenta if not at least a marginal previa. Sex causes uterine contractions for a couple days afterwards, so based on your description I would advise the same thing. If you bleed after sex, you won't know if its the previa or just post coital bleeding. Do something else. By the way the grading has nothing to do with previa. ...Read more
