Pituitary Gland Symptoms
Many: Simplistically, the pituitary produces 6 hormones (fsh, lh, gh, tsh, acth, prolactin) which control hormone secretions from your thyroid, testicles or ovaries, adrenal, breast milk. Vision going blurry is a pituitary gland tumour symptom which I have but when put my glasses on everything is clear again is this because of the tumor?
Likely not: Your description matches a refractive error or standard type of glasses prescription need. Examples: myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and/or astigmatism. Pituitary related deficits do not clear with the application of glasses & are generally a type of bitemporal visual field defects (decreased vision out to both sides). Have these vision defects evaluated by your eye MD. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Microadenoma: Hi. A pituitary tumor up 10 mm in diameter is a microadenoma (a macro adenoma if diameter is 11 mm or greater). Would doctors remove a 5mm non secreting adenoma on pituitary gland if it is causing symptoms such as anxiety and chronic pain with no relief w meds?
Please forgive me: Your pituitary adenoma isn't the cause of your anxiety or chronic pain. Fixate on it, and you'll never find or address the real causes. Lots of people have these little things. As a young man, I was in a series of difficult living situations that affected how I felt without there being any organic pathology; with a doctor's 20/20 hindsight I recovered thanks to escaping and learning new skills. ...Read more

My 14 yr old son had an MRI for pulsitile tinitus for the ent. He mentioned his pituitary gland was enlarged. He has lots of other weird symptoms. ?
Second opinion : A pediatric neuroradiologist should take a look at the mri. If images of the pituitary weren't specifically ordered, then this becomes a less sensitive test because the "cuts" through the pituirary images are too big to get a good look. Also, teenage pituitaries are supposed to be larger than those of adults because of all the activity going on there relative to puberty and growth. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
