I asked for sublingual piroxicam, but they only had dispersible. Can these be used sublingually with same effectiveness of actual sublingual sort?
Piroxicam is not...: Piroxicam is definitely not an immune modulator needed to treat lupus. It a great long lasting pain drug with a half life of 62 hrs, but would reduce or relieve lupus aches and pains. Most rheumatologists would have you take Hydroxychloroquine (plaquenyl) and possibly methotrexate. I also use ridaura or oral gold. Not likely: Piroxicam has a long half-life, about 30-60 hours. Side effects are the same as for other nsaids, and can include GI upset or ulcers, high blood pressure, kidney problems, or heart problems. Piroxicam = NSAID.: Yes it can. Nsaid’s, ssri’s, hormone meds, otc meds containing diuretics, warm bath, heating pad, exercise ; acupuncture are excellent for pms / period. Avoid caffeine, chocolate, alcohol ; salt. Get gyn eval to r/o underlying pathology. Consider omega- 3 fatty acids, magnesium (supplementation or through diet) or black cohosh with dr ok.
