For 3 weeks I've had a pink eye/sore throat virus. Pink eye was gone for a while but has come back full force. Is that normal? How much longer? : (
Have it checked: I think adenovirus when I hear of pink eye/throat issues. This virus can cause eye redness for up to 14 days in some. The virus basically can strip the thin top lining of the eye off leaving it vulnerable to secondary infection/pain. Antibiotics don't help but may be used to reduce a second infection. I would see an MD this week to see what the cause is. Good luck! ...Read more

1year3month old boy had a viral pink eye 6month back. Cured in 2 days. Came back today again after 6 months. Is it OK? Or any other possibility
First you have to make sure it is Pink eye, there are a lot of other conditions that looks like a simple conjunctivitis.
Usually it is a simple infection and does not cause any problems or chronic conditions, when it is recurrent you need to make sure it is not dust allergy, or sun sensitivity to name a few so definitely see your doctor if its coming back,

See eye doctor: Typically pink eye does not linger for a month. You should see your eye doctor. I suggest that you contact your doctor as standard "pink eye" usually clears up in about a week. You may need medication depending on the cause of your eye redness. ...Read more
Eyes: Itchy, red, swollen, tearing (no abnor. Discharge). Worse in right eye. Occurred 1 day last week, went away and is back. Allergic or Pink eye?
Pink eye? My son (15 years old) had what we believe to be pink eye. He took antibiotic drops for the seven days. The next day it came back. He was then give a script for a steroid drops. He has been taking that for 6 days. That eye is becoming pink again a
Pink: Pink eyes are usually a consequence of viral infections. The approach of treating with antibiotics will not treat the condition, but may help prevent a secondary bacterial infection. The fact that the conditioned recurred and is associated with body rashes is suggestive of other causes. One additional consideration is allergies. If your son has a history of allergies then the steroid drops will benefit the eye condition but not clear the rash. I would continue to follow closely with the eye specialist and discuss the possibility of allergies. ...Read more
