A few possibilities: This could be due to allergies, dry eyes, or eye infections. All can start or affect 1 eye first. The treatments are very different. Many: Many many things can cause swollen eyelids (lid edema). Strange that it is just on one side. If has ben going on for six months, it is probably not an infection. Depends: Conjunctivitis may be viral, bacterial, allergic and traumatic or other. Even if the drops given were appropriate the inflammatory process may not yet had enough time to recede. If you were not seen by an ophthalmologist, go back and see one now. Vision can be lost quickly and can be irretrievable if the diagnosis and treatment were not correct.
