This is easy...: Ask your child's doctor an follow his or her advice. There is nothing in this that sounds unusual or serious, if properlly treated.

Will treatment for strep throat also treat pink eye?

Will treatment for strep throat also treat pink eye?

Not really: Many viral infections result in varying degrees of ocular irritation and often times even conjunctivitis or pink eye. Usually, as the infection clears, the ocular symptoms subside. So, the tablets you take to help with the throat don't act directly on the pink eye.

I have a 15 month old son he has fever, rash everywhere, blisters around mouth, pink eye and drooling is this strep or something else?

Maybe, maybe not: Can only be sure with an exam & testing. If the kid is feeding ok & not too stressed out this can wait a couple days. If things look bad & kids not drinking I would have him seen sooner.

Strep throat: Were you started on any antibiotics given the diagnosis? At any rate continue the course if you were prescribed an antibiotic, pink eye can occur with pharyngitis, either viral or bacterial, you may need eye drops added, kindly revisit your doctor for another review of your case, goodluck

Will azithromycin tablets for strep throat also help for pink eye?

Will azithromycin tablets for strep throat also help for pink eye?

Maybe: But strep rarely causes pink eye and azithromicin is not the best drug for strep with a high resistance rate.

What to do if I was prescribed azithromycin tablets for strep throat. Will they also help pink eye?

What to do if I was prescribed azithromycin tablets for strep throat. Will they also help pink eye?

Probably not: Most "pink eye" is due to a virus and Azithromycin will not have any effect on that. But you should continue the medication for your throat and your eye will get better on its own.

Pink eye? Eye redness, white discharge, feels like eyelash stuck, tender/swelling around, have strep throat. Do I need to see a Dr? Anything I can do?

Yes: You need to see your doctor and start antibiotics, if you haven't already, as for your eyes, you may very well have conjunctivitis, most probably, your doctor would prescribe antibiotics locally too, or refer you to an ophthalmologist if need be, good luck

Is pink eye contagious before symptoms appear? We had a family get together Sunday, now a cousin has it and I'm worried about myself and my kids.

Is pink eye contagious before symptoms appear? We had a family get together Sunday, now a cousin has it and I'm worried about myself and my kids.

Look for discharge: The red, discharging, matted eye is what is the contagion. Prior to that if you are not having symptoms it is unlikely you or anybody similar is contagious. Frequent hand washing and avoiding touching the face unless in the shower is recommended. Get checked if symptoms develop. Cheers.

My eyes keep getting stuck together when I'm asleep. Is that a sign of pink eye?

My eyes keep getting stuck together when I'm asleep. Is that a sign of pink eye?

Could be: Referred to as matting of eyelids, this can be a sign of conjunctivitis -- which is an eye infection or inflammation. Other conditions such as blepharitis can also cause it.

Blepharitis: More likely, it is a sign of blepharitis or other similar conditions. Information about blepharitis is available online. We recommend that you see your eye doctor to ensure that there is not a more serious condition.

Hi There, I am having difficulty swallowing for the past 5 days. And I woke up with a pink eye today. Is it possible that both the symptoms link together?

Hi There, I am having difficulty swallowing for the past 5 days. And I woke up with a pink eye today. Is it possible that both the symptoms link together?

Possibly related: More information will be needed be able to determine if they are related or not. It may be due to an infection (like some kinds of virus) or allergy. You may want to see your doctor to examine you. ---> Please note that difficulty swallowing can be dangerous at times; it can be due to swelling, that can eventually block your wind pipe and can kill you because you will not be able to breath again

? Viral Conjunctiviti: You may have a viral syndrome that also has ocular manifestations. Get an exam. Treatment for a viral infection is different than a bacterial conjunctivitis.

3 yr old has pinkeye and ear inf with pus no fever nopain should he take antibiotic in addition to eye drps can it also be strep throat brother has it?

Ear Infection: The combination of pink eye and ear infection usually is treated by oral antibiotics, in fact eye drops may not be necessary. The association with strep throat is likely if there is an exposure. Thank you.

How do you get pink eye?

Most commonly viral: "pinkeye" is a general term for inflammation of the white of the eye, or conjunctivitis. It is often viral, but can be bacterial or even allergic. Some forms of viral pinkeye can be quite debilitating, even leading to visual loss. Recent antiviral medications have proved quite effective against the more severe forms of conjunctivitis, so be sure to see your eye doctor at the first signs.
