Can a pinched nerve cause neck pain shoulder and shoulder blade pain? Or what are some different things it could be?

Even carpal tunnel may refer pain upwards, but not usually into neck. Shoulder, neck, and blade pain may be seen with internal shoulder derangements, such as rotator cuff tear. Discuss with MD: You have a lot going on for your age, please discuss this with your doctor, you may warrant some further testing. This is not a good forum for this question as we can not diagnose "pinched nerve" without examination and testing. Your doctor may order a nerve conduction test coupled with an emg, or an MRI if they have not done so already. Discuss with your doctor. ...Read more

Accident 1 mo ago, pinched ulnar nerve. Chest pain when i lay on left or belly. Related? Had blood/ekg all normal. Also GERD symps. Neck shoulder pain

A good way to find out is to have a physician block (numb up) your ulnar nerve and see what sx go away. ...Read more

Yes: It appears that you have a nerve impingement somewhere between a nerve root or the nerve it self. A deep breath or certain movements can impinge these structures causing increased discomfort. Neck& Shoulder pain for almost 3 years, in car accident 3 years ago. Xray and MRi normal, can it be nerve damage? will it come up in MRI? what else?

Maybe: Not all nerve damage will show up on an MRI - only that which is caused by a disc pushing on a nerve coming out of the spinal column. The next step would be to see a pain management specialist or neurologist to try and ascertain the diagnosis. Fibromyalgia may be the problem which is not uncommon after car accidents and whiplash injuries. ...Read more
