Are you sure it is: In the muscle? Or maybe more superficial, in the subcutaneous tissue? Doesn't sound serious, unless there is weakness in the leg. If it is loss of sensation, its is nerve to the skin of the area that is affected. A small area is of little significance, unless you have other symptoms. ...Read more

Nerve or hamstring: This sounds like the area where the hamstring attaches to the ischial tuberosity (bone) and can be a source of pain.
