Pinched Nerve In Shoulder Numb Fingers
I had a pinched nerve from my neck behind my shoulder blade all the way down to my fingers. My pain has subsided although my thumb index finger and middle finger are still numb in my left are. Please help. I need the sensation back. What can I do?
The brain and spinal cord communicates with what is occurring in the internal organs and limbs by nerve fibers where are like electrical wires with insulation (myelin) and the "copper" (axon). Within brain and spinal cord these nerves connect to other nerves via synapses on both axons and dendrites. A nerve can carry information regarding sensations, and ...Read more
How long does it take for a pinched nerve to heal? I'm having pain in shoulder and down to the fingers. Also hurts on the back of my shoulder
Pinched nerve 1yr ago/lost most of lft tricept..Still have little feeling in 3 fingers..Can I rebuild arm/& will numbness stop?
There is a chance: Since you are still able to feel it, the nerve is still functional. I am not sure if you already had injection/therapy, or nerve decompression surgery done yet. If you have not had the surgery, you may need this done to regain your tricep. Don't wait too long because the neuropathy (degeneration of the nerve) maybe irreversible. Consult doc. Good luck. ...Read more

Does a pinched nerve have to be accompanied by symptoms of numbness and tingly ? For example lets say the nerve the innervates the shoulder muscle.
Not always...: Although most nerves have both motor and sensory fibers, neural inflammation may selectively involve motor fibers, in which the symptoms would be weakness of the affected muscle. On the other hand, if only sensory fibers are involved, then the symptoms would be a combination of numbness, tingling, and pain in the region served by the fibers. ...Read more

Could the numbness I am feeling be caused by a pinched nerve? I am experiencing numbness on the left side of my chest, under left arm, and back. I have had a sharp pain for 3 weeks that goes from my shoulder blade through to my chest. I was sent to the
Arguably : Arguably the worst possible cause of severe pain felt in the shoulder blade and deep into the chest would be an uncommon condition called aortic dissection. Problems with the gallbladder and heart can also cause pain in the region of the shoulder or armpit (axilla). The spinal nerve corresponding to t2 also feels an area that involves the armpits and hoop-shaped strip of skin that runs across your chest above your nipples, through your armpits, and across your back at about the same level (it also involves part of the skin on the arm). After excluding things like dissection, heart problems, and gallbladder problems, a neurosurgeon may be helpful to get to a diagnosis and some relief. ...Read more

Yes: A pinched nerve in the neck most commonly causes pain, usually starting in the side/back of the neck and then radiating down the arm. Numbness in the fingers, hand, and forearm can also occur, as well as weakness in the arm. Not all patients have all three symptoms. The pattern of pain, numbness, and weakness can predict which nerve is being pinched. Your c6 nerve is likely involved. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I've been having numbness in my left ring an pinky finger the past 3 days. The week prior I had severe pain in the area behind my elbow. This tells me it's a pinched nerve. Is there anything I can do without going to a doctor?
You might try ..: .... an over-the-counter wrist splint. I concur with your diagnosis that some nerve compression is going on, and it may be at the elbow, but even stabilizing the ulnar nerve (suppliers of the 4th and 5th digits) at the wrist could help. Anti-inflammatories such as ibuprofen/naproxen could reduce swelling if this is part of the problem. If it goes on a week or more, you should contact your doctor ...Read more
Think have pinched nerve in elbow from studding at desk too long. My hand and pinky finger have been numb for 2 days. What do I do?
May reverse: Avoid all leaning on elbow, and be protective. Take a daily B-100 complex. Also, try OTC ibuprofen or Aleve (naproxen) three times daily. If no rapid improvement over next 10-14 days, see your physician. This is likely to be temporary, but hard to predict. If starts worsening, such as more numbness, loss of hand strength, will need to act much faster. ...Read more
Pain in left arm and left shoulder. Arm feels numb with sharp pains down to elbow, causing nausea. Pinched nerve maybe? Or something more serious?
Possible Nerve Pinch: Sharp pain in the arm associated with numbness is often a symptom of a nerve pinch somewhere along the course of a nerve or nerves. Classically the nerve pinch itself does not cause nausea, but the consequential pain if significant enough can be associated with nausea. Such significant complaints should be evaluated by an appropriately trained health care professional. ...Read more
Which one is most likely to make only my left side neck, shoulder, arm, hand & leg numb & tingly a pinched nerve in back or neck? I have no pain.
Nerve impingement: These symptoms most likely arise in your neck/cervical spine. It can also arise from your brain from something like a stroke but this is less likely if the face is not involved. Nerve impingement should not be taken lightly. Any neurologic deficits such as these should be evaluated by a physician promptly. If you develop any functional loss or weakness that would represent an emergency. ...Read more

Generic advice: Avoid leaning on your elbow, or bumping your elbow. A B-100 complex might add some support. An anti-inflammatory such as Aleve (naproxen) or Ibuprofen might blunt the inflammation.
