I have some neck pain and tingling in right arm, could it be a pinched nerve? Does a chiropractor take care of this or should I see my doctor?
Absolutely: A pinched nerve can cause neck pain headaches, and pain or numbness running into the arm. There are other potential causes, however, and so it would be food to just get a regular check up to make sure it is nothing else. Physical therapy, chiropractic, and interventional pain management are the non operative treatments for it if it doesn't get better. Thank you. ...Read more

Pinched nerve: Yes, most likely a pinched nerve although there are several possible causes. You should start be seeing your primary care doctor. Sharp pain in my left shoulder blade. Neck pain radiates behind my ear. Shoulder pain and soreness. And little arm soreness as well. Pinched nerve?
Discuss with MD: You have a lot going on for your age, please discuss this with your doctor, you may warrant some further testing. This is not a good forum for this question as we can not diagnose "pinched nerve" without examination and testing. Your doctor may order a nerve conduction test coupled with an emg, or an MRI if they have not done so already. Discuss with your doctor. ...Read more

Cervical medial branch block with DEXA lidocaine gave me 1 day of neck pain relief. After 1day neck pain again. Ok to Proceed to radiofreq ablation?
Be patient. Some times it takes a few weeks for DEXA to get effect. Ablation is a serious procedure with some side effects and no warranties. Rec. See your pain management specialist for medication adjustment (e.g. tramadol, relafen, (nabumetone) Lidocaine 20% patch, etc.)
Also cognitive behavior therapy. East-West integration medicine.

Headache has gotten worse today taken nurofen as only strongest pain relief I able to get. Had headaches 2months and getting several dizzy spells and tingly feeling face/head neck pain at the top?
Both can help: These medications are in 2 different classes. Naproxen is an NSAID and hydrocodone is an opioid and probably also has tylenol. If you don't have major kidney disease or stomach ulcers, Naproxen should be the safer of the 2. If inadequate, hydrocodone can be added until no longer needed. Use all meds as directed and carefully note all sources of acetaminophen/tylenol-3000mg/day max! ...Read more

PCP can do a lot!:
1.Identify "pain generator" (nerve root, muscle, or both)
2. Identify possible pain triggers (dietary, emotional, chemical, physical, pharmaceutical)
3. Address the triggers in proper order
4. For muscle pain generators use appropriate physical modalities
5. Use appropriate pharmaceuticals – systemic and topical
6. Use invasive modalities he/she is comfortable with (trigger points injections). ...Read more
Can cervical radiculopathy cause pain in shoulder, arm, side of chest and sometimes hand? But no neck pain? Most pain is inner arm. Mostly when I move.
Strange but true: Cervical radiculopathy occasionally can be present without the presence of significant neck pain. That is a little odd when we see it and for that reason deserves to be looked at in detail to make sure something else may not be causing neurological symptoms such as a mass lesion, nutritional deficiency, etc. Emg studies often help answer this question as well. A good neurologist can help with this. ...Read more

Is a pinched nerve in the neck at C5 C6 a serious condition? Is a pinched nerve like cervical radiculopathy? Please help
Outcome varies: If there is compression of one of the nerve roots it is sometimes equivalent to a "pinched nerve". This type of physical compression of a nerve root can result in a radiculopathy. The outcome is variable. Sometimes over a period of days - weeks the radiculopathy will spontaneously improve. If you start noticing difficulty in pinching (weakness) of your thumb and index finger then check with MD. ...Read more
