Pinched Nerve In Neck Numbness In Hand
I have neck pain and stiffness. I have tingling and numbness in hands and fingers and some tingling in buttocks area. I also struggle with anxiety/p attacks. Xrays show degen. In neck. What to do?
Your best bet: Is to review these issues with your primary care doctor. They could be anxiety related but may also be related to another process. A good formal neurologic evaluation is necessary to make sure further evaluation beyond the x-rays you report, if any other testing is warranted. Best of luck.See 2 more doctor answers
The brain and spinal cord communicates with what is occurring in the internal organs and limbs by nerve fibers where are like electrical wires with insulation (myelin) and the "copper" (axon). Within brain and spinal cord these nerves connect to other nerves via synapses on both axons and dendrites. A nerve can carry information regarding sensations, and ...Read more
My doctor has given me naproxen and diazepam for pinched nerve in my neck. I have numbness in my left forearm hand and 2 middle fingers. Still in agon?
Pinched nerve in neck (C6) including pain and left thumb and forearm numbess. Going for EMG in a few weeks but what can be done beforehand to help make the pain and numbness go away?
Massage therapy: There might be certain positional components to your daily routine that worsen or exacerbate this pinched nerve or " cervical radiculopathy". Try to tilt your head the opposite side from your limb numbness to see if it improves. Typically manual medicine such as physical therapy, certain forms of chiropractic therapy and massage are helpful.See 1 more doctor answer
Which one is most likely to make only my left side neck, shoulder, arm, hand & leg numb & tingly a pinched nerve in back or neck? I have no pain.
Nerve impingement: These symptoms most likely arise in your neck/cervical spine. It can also arise from your brain from something like a stroke but this is less likely if the face is not involved. Nerve impingement should not be taken lightly. Any neurologic deficits such as these should be evaluated by a physician promptly. If you develop any functional loss or weakness that would represent an emergency.

Spine Surgeon: This can come from several issues, the most concerning would be a pinched nerve in the neck. First see a spine surgeon, they will get an MRI or other scan of your neck. Other possibilities include muscle spasms or other myofascial pain types. Once you have the cause worked out you can seek the treatment right for you.See 1 more doctor answer
My whole right shoulder hand left hand fall asleep going numb on me neck pain could it be a pinched nerve in my neck?
Pinched nerve: Yes, most likely a pinched nerve although there are several possible causes. You should start be seeing your primary care doctor. You may only need physical therapy to relieve the pressure on the nerve but may need more extensive treatments and, much less often, surgery to correct the problem.See 1 more doctor answer

I am 42 male. I was diagnosed with pinched nerve in neck 3 weeks ago. Still getting pain & numbness. How long till it gets better? I'm in agony. Thxx
Variable: There are very degrees of nerve involvement ranging from mild and self-limiting to severe, which may require surgical decompression. As such, an accurate diagnosis should be determined. This can be accomplished by a neurologic examination, MRI and/or EMG/nerve conduction studies that will localize and prognosticate a compressive neuropathy. Once this is done then treatment can be recommended.
Sure it can: Depending on the location and severity of the impingement, a pinched nerve in your neck can certainly cause symptoms along its path--as seen example picture here. A pinched/trapped nerve at the elbow behind your funny bone can do so as well, so is carpal tunnel syndrome. If symptoms bothersome, consult doc for evaluation/treatment. Good luck.See 1 more doctor answer
Not likely: Not likely. The nerve that supplies sensation to the face is the trigeminal nerve. This is a cranial nerve that exits the skull base behind the eyes, so not related to any cervical nerve rootlets. It would be entirely abnormal to have numbness over the face from a pinched nerve in the neck.See 1 more doctor answer
Is a pinched nerve in the neck at C5 C6 a serious condition? Is a pinched nerve like cervical radiculopathy? Please help
Outcome varies: If there is compression of one of the nerve roots it is sometimes equivalent to a "pinched nerve". This type of physical compression of a nerve root can result in a radiculopathy. The outcome is variable. Sometimes over a period of days - weeks the radiculopathy will spontaneously improve. If you start noticing difficulty in pinching (weakness) of your thumb and index finger then check with MD.See 1 more doctor answer
Dug driveway, heavy shoveling & wheelbarrow use. Pain, numbness, weakness in hands & arms daily life is difficult. Will massages help a pinched nerve?
Herniated disc: Skip the massage and go to the doctor first. The weakness and numbness in the hands is a sign of spinal cord compression. A ruptured disc due to shoveling may be making your "life difficult". A visit to the doctor and an MRI of the cervical spine is a priority before a massage. Do not go to a chiropractor for an adjustment until spinal cord compression is excluded.
I have numbness in the right side of my tongue & face. Also experiencing neck pain on rt side after sleeping funny. Pinched nerve? What should I do?

Recently diagnosed with pinched nerve and given 20mg Prednisone for 12 days. One week later slight pain and tingling/numbness in hand/arm. More meds?
Can a pinched nerve in the neck cause facil and scalp tingles and numbness to the touch as with the feet and legs? Will the emg test figure this out?
Numbness: An upper cervical nerve problem can cause posterior scalp numbness. Facial numbness is due to either a cranial nerve or brain. Tingling and numbness in face, scalp, and legs without arms involved is unusual but can be caused by what is call a peripheral neuropathy. An electrodiagnostic test involving nerve conduction and EMG may be quite helpful in determining what and how nerves are effected.See 4 more doctor answers
