Lymph nodes: The lymph nodes usually enlarge as response to an infection in the vicinity. It lasts maximum 2-3 weeks and as the infection goes away (with antibiotics usually) the lymph nodes disappear. Outside this scenario, I would be worried and demand further investigation (ct is appropriate, a blood smear and CBC with differential, as well as a bmp with enzymes markers analysis) up to an excision biopy.

Deep, ear pain: It is possible you could have a cholesteatoma, which if present for awhile might be eroding your mastoid bone. A CT scan or MRI might be in order to find out

This is called. ..: Referred pain. The pain centers in the throat and ear and TMJ are close enough that disease in one area can produce pain in the others. Ear pain does not usually refer to the throat however, it usually the other way. Some one with tonsillitis or a cancer in the throat will often complain of ear pain.

Pinched Nerve: The node you are discussing could be pinching on a nerve that travels into the ear region resulting in the ringing. If you are sick, once you are better the node will decrease in size and help this issue. However, if it does not, you may want to be evaluated further by a ENT doctor.

Pain: It is great that you have stopped smoking. There is a nerve at the base of your skull that may be causing you pain based on your description of the location. To, fully assess the ear pain your doctor needs to look at your ear canal and ear drum. Schedule an appointment and feel better.

Lump: It depends where on the neck the lump is. Sometimes its a salivary gland or a lymph nose. Start with warm compresses several times a day and ibuprofen, but if its red or you have a fever you need to check it out

Ibuprofen: To begin with I would try Ibuprofen. As long as there are no neurological symptoms this would be the first step. Warm compresses help too. If symptoms persist, you need to go in and have it assessed.

I found a lump on the upper side of my left neck. No pain. But now have started experiencing sever left ear pain.

Visit Doctor: This lump might be a lymph node, which tends to swell when a source of infection is near--in this case it might be your ear and its pain. However, if anything else, lumps are usually not good to own, and should be evaluated by a doctor.

Complex issue: Ask your doctor if physical therapy or an MRI is appropriate. Also, look at your caffeine intake and stress level. Reducing these may help. If there's no anatomic problem with the MRI, you may want to try alternatives such as massage or acupuncture. Hope this helps!
