It's possible you have an infection in the ear canal or behind the ear drum. However your symptoms are somewhat atypical for these causes. It's possible the source of your pain is somewhere else in the in the pharynx and is being "referred" to the ear area. You need to see your physician as soon as possible. If the cause isn't apparent you need to see an ENT specialist.

Swollen gland: Which gland is swollen? Cheek or at the angle of the jaw and under the tongue.? When you massage the jaw or cheek is thee a bad taste in the mouth? If so, you could have an infected gland you would need antibiotics in that case. The pain in the ear is referred pain from the swelling.
