How long does a pinched nerve in leg take to heal?

How long does a pinched nerve in leg take to heal?

Weeks to Months: Generally most people can get relief from sciatic pain doing the conservative care within 3-6 weeks. If it persists after that, it can take up to 6 months to heal by itself. You may still be a candidate for epidural steroid injections that may help relieve the pain while your body heals itself.

First, understand: That sciatic nerve pain is pain radiating into the leg with back pain that may or may not be associated with it. There could be one of multiple reasons for your pain that if it has persisted or progressed in spite of having it for some period of time you should see your doctor if otc medication, time & activity modification don' t help, get checked

I usually get my pinched nerve on my left leg and lately I have been feeling in on my other leg (knees down)? Could this be my pinchenerve?

I usually get my pinched nerve on my left leg and lately I have been feeling in on my other leg (knees down)? Could this be my pinchenerve?

Different nerve: If you are having problems in the other leg, it would have to be a different "pinched" nerve. However, some rather large, central disc herniations or bilateral narrowing can cause problems on both sides.

I have a lot of pain in my right leg. It starts in the butt andthigh. What type of tests are there to find out if and where a pinched nerve is in the back?

This diagnosis is: Made by taking a careful history & doing a thorough physical examination with testing used to confirm the diagnosis if needed for further treatnent if initial care with time, activity modification, medication & physical therapy do not help. Then a lumbar MRI or ct if MRI contraindicated would be the ideal tests usually after 6 weeks of symptoms to help confirm diagnosis & guide further care.

Ridiculous Radiculis: It sounds as though your leg pain is being caused by nerves that are exiting your lower back. This is usually in the area of the lumbar and sacral areas. Known as a radiculopathy, when it affects the entire leg it can also be called sciatica. To remove all doubt, seek out a specialist to properly evaluate your condition and determine the proximal cause of the nerve irritation.
