Pinched Nerve Back Of Head
Discomfort in neck and back of head, dizziness, left eye can sometimes feel cool to the touch and on rare occasion stings. Is it a pinched nerve?
See your doctor: This is a problem that necessitates a face-to-face meeting with your doctor. This will allow him/her to examine you, ask specific questions. And possibly order tests to find out what's wrong and what to do to help you. ...Read more
The brain and spinal cord communicates with what is occurring in the internal organs and limbs by nerve fibers where are like electrical wires with insulation (myelin) and the "copper" (axon). Within brain and spinal cord these nerves connect to other nerves via synapses on both axons and dendrites. A nerve can carry information regarding sensations, and ...Read more
42 yrs old female started having pain in neck, back of head, high blood press & now lower jaw and right arm are shaking. Reason? Pinched nerve may be?
Difficult diagnosis: If it involves numbness, I would recommend getting an EMG test to see if there is a nerve involved. It could be a focal seizure, and seeing a doctor could help tease that out. They might order an EEG. Another possibility is an atypical migraine. Multiple sclerosis is another possibility. The shoulder should be looked at as a source of the pain as well. ...Read more
Can a pinch nerve in the neck or crown of skull cause dizziness? Strained neck heard a pop doesn't hurt but very annoying. Lower back of head tender.
Pinched Nerve: A pinched nerve in the neck can cause temporary and limited episodes of dizziness but it shouldn't necessarily persist as long periods of dizziness. There might be something else going on if that is the case, including a diskmpronlem with nerve or vascualr compromise. If the dizziness doesn't clear expeditiously, I would make an appointment to see a neurologist and have it thoroughly checked out. ...Read more
Where in the back?: You certainly could have something a little trapped at the level of the C5 nerve root level which could either be physically pulling on the scapular nerve giving you pain on the left or pinching specific nerve fibers taking off from C5 at the brachial plexus level firing off the scapular nerve in that region. ...Read more
My son is in a habit of bending his head front when playing video games. 13 yr old. His back hurts around 1 area he said it feels like a pinched nerve?
Yes: Often a pinched nerve in the neck or other cause of neck muscle stiffness can cause the "greater occipital nerve" to get irritated and produce sensations of numbness/ tingling/ "ants under the skin" in the region of the back of the scalp, the skin above the ears and even into the forehead. This is called greater occipital neuralgia and is a side effect of the primary issue. ...Read more
Can a pinched nerve cause dizziness? My son was in a accident last year and has had constant back pain, now he is getting light headed and feeling na
Concussion Syndrome: Typically a "pinched nerve" in the lower back will not cause any dizziness. If he was in an accident, it is possible that your son may have suffered a concussion even without loss of consciousness. I would recommend further evaluation by a specialist for that possibility. There are many other causes of dizziness that may require an ENT evaluation or neurological consult. Medication side effects? ...Read more

When I put my head down to my chest I have a pins and needles sensation into the back of my legs, is this a pinched nerve? If yes what can I do for it
Maybe or Maybe not: It could be caused by cervical stenosis, with pressure on your spinal cord. However, there are other things that could cause this, so go see a spinal surgeon for evaluation to rule out any spinal cause of your symptoms. ...Read more
Have sharp pain behind left ear at back/mid of head for past few days but today's worst. Pinched nerve? What could this be? Should I take a motrin?
You may need a good: A good doctor for the long haul is what you need in order to help you with your problems. I doubt that you have a pinched nerve. Tylenol (acetaminophen) is a good all purpose pain medicine. If it does not control your pain well, then you may take a Motrin but not for more than once or twice as it can cause ulcers in your stomach. So you will be best served by having a primary care doctor whom you can go and see. ...Read more

Having back pain and when I bend head forward I can feel something pulling and painful. Have s pped discs and pinched nerves. Could this be the cause?
Yes: If it is clear that you suffer from displaced disks or pinched nerves in the neck then, certainly flexing the neck forward can create a pulling sensation on the spinal column and subsequently place drag or stretch on the nerves and vertebral disks which may not be perfectly aligned causing pain in the neck. Have you participated in some type of exercise therapy for your condition? ...Read more
I had a pinch nerve to the back of my head. I went to theropy and I don't feel pain as much but I feel parts of my brain now. What is this?
Unclear: It isn't clear what you mean by feeling "parts of your brain" since physiologically this doesn't make sense. You may be experiencing sensitivity to muscles in the area or in the base of the head. Presumably you were referred to PT by a physician; suggest you query your doctor who can examine you thoroughly. ...Read more
Sometimes I feel my back head or top light tingling. Not in my face, is a mini stroke or just pinch nerves?
Occipital Neuralgia: Sounds like occipital neuralgia, so I would not be concerned with a mini-stroke. But to be sure you should be seen your doctor for further evaluation. The occipital nerves exit from the skull in the back of the head and then travel to the top of the head and end close to the forehead area, so you could have altered sensation or the tingling you described in these areas. ...Read more

My low lumbar cracks (or pops) and it also there is a pinching pain that goes through my eight butt cheek from it. Pinched nerve? Sciatic maybe?
Scitica: The popping and cracking may not be related unless there is pain in the lower back. A pinched nerve in the lower back can cause discomfort and pain in the gluteal region (buttocks). Irritation of the actual sciatic nerve such as from piriformis syndrome may do this as well. Referred pain unrelated to the sciatic is also possible. Consult your doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. ...Read more
