Started with cold sore on cheek, sore on roof of month, feel like sores in throat now painful red dots on tip of my tongue.

Could be serious: This sounds like an innocent disease called herpangina from a virus that mostly affects children. And it is possible you have it, if you are exposed to children. However, you are 62. At this age some other more serious things could be happening and I would urge you to see a clinician soon. Meanwhile for comfort you can use warm salt water gargles and Tylenol. I have sores on my tonsils without a sore throat. Slight swelling on right tonsil. Sores look like small canker sores. Looks like it would hurt. ?

Painless sore throat: Everyone has a different pain threshold - and some people complain only when excruciating pain sets in. Common things being common, you probably have pharyngitis - and you should get a throat culture and doctor's evaluation. Sometimes patients can have oral syphilis - and I don't know what your risks are - but the textbooks report relatively painless lesions can occur. So hope you can see a doc! ...Read more

Had what looked like a canker sore/white head directly on bottom lip. Popped it and it went away. Not a cold sore. Usually get with chapped lips. ?

See your dentist: see your dentist. You may have had an aphthous ulcer which is very similiar and not a cold sore. It appears on soft muscosal tissue and lasts for 3-7 days. It appears from stress and iatrogenic; unknown causes. It disappears usually after 7 days but, it is red and painful. Viscous Lidocaine rinses and Lidex (fluocinonide) cream topically applied to the area help. ...Read more

Lower lip is swollen, small red bump under the lip, is it a cold sore? I can feel the bump thro my lip. Not itchy, no feaver, lip feels numb

Can't be 100% sure: But what you're describing sounds a lot like the early signs of a cold sore. These are typically caused by a strain of the herpes virus that about 80% of people carry in their system. People usually get them when they are run down, or stressed (or have a "cold"). If you want to be pro-active, you can ask your doctor for a prescription for an anti-viral medication like "valacyclovir" which can help. ...Read more

I have some small white/yellowish bumps on the inside, back of my lip. In between my gums and lip line. Painful, bleed sometimes. Canker or cold sore?

Aphthous ulcer: It's most likely a canker sore. It is painful, I get them sometimes when I eat acidic foods. You can put some oil of clove on it to numb it. It will burn a bit when you put it on but will go away within a few minutes. If your dentist has a soft tissue laser that can also help with the healing process. It should go away in about a week. Hope this helps!!! ...Read more
