Well yes, but...: Finding that your colon is inflamed by capsule endoscopy does not MAKE a diagnosis of ulcerative colitis. The distribution of colitis, biopsy findings, IBD markers, as well as ruling out infection & ischemia are all important parts of the diagnosis. I had a pillcam colonoscopy on Monday, I feel ok but I know I have not passed the pill in my bms. Can it get stuck without having symptoms?

Not recommended: A full colonoscopy can be very uncomfortable, even painful. I would certainly NOT recommend it in an awake state. Your body's response to conscious pain may also make the procedure more difficult to perform and limit the usefulness of the exam. ...Read more
