The lack of a good fiber source in our diet as well as dehydration are often the root of the problem . Doctor visits: I do understand your concern but I do think they are correct. What is missing in my opinion is some additional concern you have. Anal pain: The symptoms you have suggestive of sphincter spasm or the muscle around the anus is too tight or dysfunctional. It may be causing the issues with leaking and pain. Did the previous docs actually look inside with an instrument called proctoscope? If not I would recommend it. Also need to evaluate if you have constipation. This can lead to issues. Consider options: Fucidin is a combo of hydrocortisone and a topical antibiotic effective against gram + bacteria, but not e.coli - which are present in your bowel. Broken or irritated skin allows for increased absorbtion , which is not desired. You may be better off using witch hazel (ie Tucks pads), sitz baths or ice packs to decrease itching and discomfort.
