Here are some...: Do HPT in a wk after missing the expected period and repeat it in another wk if the first HPT is (-) & still in doubt. In reality, no contraceptive bears a 100% success, and the so-called morning sickness may occur any time of the day despite its name, and usually starts at around 6 weels, peaking around 9 weeks, and fading away in 12-18 weeks after conception. Confused-are birth control pills 99% effective after 1 week? Pamphlet says back-up for 7 days but people are saying it takes a month? Loestrin 1/20
Not a month: You are certainly "safe" (1%failure rate when used correctly) well before one month. The one week wait is probably sufficient. I usually advise a two week wait, but this is most likely being overly cautious. However, getting pregnant when you don't want to be is a big deal. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
While on birth control, orthodox tri cyclen low, i get nosebleeds right before my period. Previously off birth control for 27mo w/ no nosebleed. Why?
Vasomotor rhinitis: Estrogen in BCP and during pregnancy and other conditions tend to make the blood vessels in the nose more reactive and is known as vasomotor rhinitis. VR acts like a cold or allergy, but is neither, and anytime the blood vessels are swollen in the nares, nose bleeds are more common. Keep nasal membranes moist with saline gel / spray or vaseline just inside the nares. ...Read more
28yrs old w/pcos, regular period w/moderate painful cramps, don't want kids (in 2yrs yes). Doc put me on loestrin 1/20 fe. Is this pill good for pcos?
Yes : All birth control pills with estrogen and Progesterone are going to be good for pcos. The low dose pills are my first choice as well. This lessons the side effects that women can have with birth control pills, and yet safe efficacy for pregnancy prevention and decreasing your testosterone levels (which are increased in pcos). Your doc made a great choice! ...Read more

Start small: Gotta address the mood. Your up all night and sleep all day. Gotta reverse that, it's easy medically. Treating the depression will help but i would start nailing sleep wake at the same time. You are likely a shift worker making u a candidate for modafanil, a wakefulness stimulator, read about it online, (modalert). When u feel better, u think better, do better, less bad habits, see good psychia. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My 8.5wk ultrasound found a 6x4.5x 4.2cm ovarian cyst. Please explicitly list safe exercises. Stair walking? Slow elliptical w/ high resistance?
What did your OB doc: Say , your OB doc should have explain that in detail to you already so call him or her today ! so they can instruct you, if you were my pt i would say no exercise other than slow walking and no intercourse until you get a followup us in 2-3 weeks tomake sure the cyst is resolving, if it would rupture hopefully not, you could lose the pregnancy, you will have plenty of time later to exercise. ...Read more

Prenatal, DHA& herbs: Congratulations! Breast-feeding is the best thing you can do for your baby's health. A good prenatal vit. should be adequate but also important is a healthy diet, lots of water and herbs that increase lactation, such as red raspberry leaf, ginger, milk thistle and fenugreek.
