What is the difference between apperant picture of the melanoma and skin fungal infection?

Very different: Melanomas usually start in a pigmented lesion (not always). And slowly grow and may bleed or ulcerate. Fungal infections begin in moist creases or folds and have white arches or raised itchy pink skin and usually respond to treatment by keeping the area clean and dry whereas a melanoma will not. Any lesion present for over a month should be evaluated by a dermatologist. ...Read more

Breathless with chest infection, can I have my brown inhaler again after already using it a few hours before which helped or do I use my blue?

Breathless with chest infection, can I have my brown inhaler again after already using it a few hours before which helped or do I use my blue?

Use the brown again: The brown inhaler is a dilator of the lung passageways. You can use it multiple times if it helps and the relief with this is usually very rapid. The blue is a steroid which can quiet down lung passageway irritation but that takes time. If you have chest infection, it is best to not use steroids for a while while the antibiotics that I assume you are taking eliminates the infection. ...Read more

What eyedrops shouldbe used for chronic cornealswelling due to chemical infection in the eyes? Also blue colour scar has been formed at corneal surface

Infection: Do not know what a chemical infection is? If you had a chemical burn or trauma to the eye, you may have scarring(and swelling acutely). Typically steroid drops and lubrication would be used initially. If you have an infection following such trauma, it would be secondary and be treated inappropriately based on the organism. If the scarring is stable and not improving, there may be a sx tx. ...Read more

Wasn't sure if I have yeast infection so I bought the test kit. Line turned blue which could mean something. ANY ideas? I am 51 and in menopause

Try a treatment: Check the instructions on your kit which should give you the interpretation. If this suggests a yeast infection and you are symptomatic (itching and sometimes a discharge) then it would be reasonable to use an over the counter medication. There are one, 3, and 7 day versions and I suggest a 3 day. If you remain symptomatic after treatment then see your doctor. ...Read more

Can you get an infection from a blue crab pinch? It was a very hard pinch and drew blood and split the finger nail. How do you know if it is infected?

Yes that is possible: When was your last tetanus shot? If you don't know or it has been more than 10 years, then please get one. The problem with these types of injuries is that marine organism can create nasty infections. I used to be an undersea medical officer & almost all my divers with underwater injuries ended up with infections - no matter how well we cleaned things out. Signs of infection include an ^ in pain. ...Read more
