No evidence of harm: I researched this on many different sites and could not find any evidence at all that garlic is harmful to developing babies. Many sites said it's fine to eat garlic in moderation but excess garlic should be avoided, but the only reason presented was that too much garlic close to delivery might thin your blood and reduce blood clotting, so cut back close to delivery.
