Physical Medicine (Overview)

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) is a field of study in which a doctor trains to become a specialist in the problems of recovery after injuries, paralysis, or amputations, in addition to sports injuries and work injuries. PM&R doctors are called physiatrists (not to be confuses with psychiatrists, who are specialists in mental disorders such as depression).
